A New Class - Introduction to Plaid Weaving
Jeanne Davidson has continued to expand her "warped mind" as she ventures into a world of plaid. If you've been around her for any time you know the more detailed the happier she is, but as in fair isle knitting, she makes everything simple. This is two part class and will be offered in October (Oct 29/30) and again in November (Nov 11/12). Call 480-557-9166 to sign up for this class.

Olds College Master Spinners Program @ Tempe Yarn
Olds College's Coleen Nimetz was the instructor for the level 1 Master Spinners college program this week at Tempe Yarn & Fiber. This intense class was the first part of a six part program. While there was a lot of learning they also found time for some fun.
Goodbye
We are sad to announce that Allison has made the decision to leave TYF for other opportunities. We wish her well in whatever she decides to do.

Kathy Canuel Trunk Show @ Tempe Yarn & Fiber
October 22 from noon to 4pm
"Being as fascinated by contrasts as I always have been, in the metals, the materials, and even the methods used to create jewelry itself, I think I've put my own yummy spin on the antique/vintage craft movement in my jewelry. I've always thought it was so fun that I could use power tools, hammers, and torches to make things that were really delicate and truly beautiful, and never before in my more than 10 years of jewelry making have I had as much fun exploring those contrasts as I have in the latest line of pieces I've been producing at my little craft desk at home. I'd have to describe my current style as modern/victorian/bohemian/bling, which will make sense as soon as you see what I've been making. But, again, because I love exploring contrast, even to my own natural style, I've also been producing some extremely modern, deceptively simple designs that those people wanting simpler jewelry will appreciate. I have so much fun when I'm creating and I can't wait to share what I've made with you!"

Shifty Ladies of the Day Seen At TYF
Today we had an amazing opportunity to see first hand a flock of very lovely "Shifty" Ladies outside of Tempe Yarn & Fiber.
With this rare breed you'll notice a common look in the lower body area. If you watch closely when a "Shifty" Ladies (front or rear) walks by, you'll see an eye catching swish.
Here are a few pictures captured this morning:
All joking aside, each of these ladies are well dressed in their Sasha skirt made of EuroFlax Sport from Louet. This Louet pattern is knitted in the round. Layers of lacy patterns, added to the underskirt, drape beautifully and skim the body. Sasha is offered in three different lengths to suit your taste.
It's a skirt that is both fun to wear (I'm told) and eye catching at the same time.

Most of you know Kathy as the local artist who makes wonderful jewelry for Tempe Yarn. Well when we recently asked her to help us make some signs to help identify the areas in the shop, she was up for the challenge. Here are a few examples of her work.
