Einstein Coat Class

Sally Melville’sEinstein Coat” has been a popular project among knitters for years, and TYF is pleased to announce that we will be holding a six-week class, during which Bev Walker will guide participants through the skills needed to complete this unique coat.

This class will have fewer rules and restrictions than most other classes. Class times will be scheduled once a week for six weeks, but participants will not be obligated to attend all six classes.

Participants will be required to attend the first class (for initial project planning and guidance), encouraged to attend the last class (for instructions on finishing and an opportunity to show and share their coats), and welcomed to attend any or all of the four classes in between (for instruction and assistance along the way).

The first class will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11th from 11:00am-1:00pm, and the fee for this initial class is $20.

The remaining classes will be held every Thursday, Oct. 18th through Nov. 15th, from 11:00am-12:30pm. The cost for each of these subsequent classes will be $15, and as these classes are optional, participants will be required to register for them at least 24 hours in advance.

Participants will need to bring their personal copy of Sally Melville’s book The Knitting Experience: Book 1: The Knit Stitch (which can be purchased at Tempe Yarn and Fiber) and knitting needles in various sizes. Bev will guide the class through the selection of appropriate yarns for the project during the first class.

Class size will be limited, so call TYF to register, and to reserve your copy of The Knitting Experience: Book 1.
