Holiday Mystery Knit Along Invites Have Been Sent Out; It's Not Too Late To Join

The official invites for those who have signed up for the Holiday Mystery Knitalong have been sent!

For those who still want to join in the fun, it's not too late. Stop by this weekend or call anytime. Here's the info:

For this Mystery Knitalong, you'll be making small items that could be given away as holiday gifts (or kept for yourself!): a dish cloth, two felted bowls, a wash cloth, and a small bag that could be used as a gift bag or a project bag.

The skill/experience level for the Mystery Holiday Gifts KAL is Advanced Beginner to Intermediate. Participants should have some knitting and pattern reading experience. Sign Up

Start Date for Knitalong Clues: Friday, October 23, 2009

Social Knitting/Support Group Times: Tuesdays, Noon-2:00 and 6:00-8:00

Cost: $10 Participation Fee, plus cost of yarn (must be purchased at TYF at time of registration) and other materials

For those who are new to TYF’s Mystery KALs (Knit Along), here is how it works.

A Mystery KAL is a knitalong where you know what type of item you are knitting, but you don’t know what the pattern is or how it will look when you are done.

You come into the store, register, and buy your yarn. (Some out-of-state participants do this through email and phone.) Once you have signed up for the KAL, an invitation is emailed to you, at the email address you provided at registration, inviting you to join the KAL Group on Yahoo!.

When you sign in to the Yahoo! Group, following the directions in the email, you will find some files there, including gauge information and a list of dates when each clue (the parts of the patterns) will be posted. The Yahoo! Group is set up specifically for the current Mystery KAL and it is a private, non-listed group, so only those participating in the KAL can join the group, and you can only join by invitation.

Participants are free to post questions, report on their progress, and support each other through the group’s message board. TYF also has day and evening support groups for hands-on help.
