Hospice of the Valley Community Project

The February-March project will benefit the Hospice of the Valley, and participants will make items for the patients and their family members.  We will collect the finished items from March 29th to April 3rd.

Support Hospice of the Valley
Tempe Yarn & Fiber will continue its commitment to the non-profit community by engaging in a fourth charity knitalong. The fourth charity to be selected is Hospice of the Valley, a charity that resonates with many TYF customers.
Hospice of the Valley is a not-for-profit, community-based health care services agency serving the greater Phoenix metropolitan area in Arizona. They provide compassionate care and expert pain management to people nearing the end of their lives, as well as supporting their families and friends. Hospice of the Valley has a holistic nursing approach, with a team of healthcare professionals serving patients’ medical, emotional and spiritual needs. They are one of the nation’s oldest and largest hospices, founded in 1977.

TYF customers are dedicated to making items that charities can utilize most.  Some of the crocheted or knitted items that Hospice of the Valley has requested include: adult slippers, infant booties, caps, shawls or lap blankets to keep patients warm and small knitted or crocheted stuffed animals to be utilized for Dementia patient’s apron pockets.  For their convenience, please use yarns that are machine washable.

H.O.V. will be the primary charity for the months of February & March.  Collection will take place the first week of April.  Charity knit nights are still taking place every Monday from 6-8pm.
