Monday Night We'll Make the Moon Disappear, Really I'm Not Joking

UPDATE: THE YARN BALL FINALLY DID BLOCK OUT THE MOON AT AROUND 12:30 BUT WITH THE CLOUDS IT WAS HARD TO SEE.  HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR DISPLAY!

All you yarnies out there, watch the moon starting about 9:30 pm.  If all goes well the giant yarn ball that we placed in orbit will block the moon.  No I'm not under a doctor's care, but perhaps I should be. LOL.

SDG Creations Trunk Show

SDG Creations will be at the shop today from noon till 4pm with a trunk show of her products. Check out the great selection she has.
Kathy writes, "I've been spending the last few months rediscovering my fun and playful spirit in my jewelry making, and this great new collection is the result.

You'll see a LOT of wire work, experimentation with different shapes, and combinations of beads and colors.

And it's not just pretty.  All of these pieces are really, really nice!  I've pulled out some of my most valuable and most favorite beads that have been in my stash for years and years--shapes and sizes that I can't even find anymore, and had been avoiding using because of that.  I'll also be bringing the best knitting stitch markers on the planet (at least on MY planet), which I'm now making in bigger sizes for bigger needles.

As I did for my last trunk show, I'll bring the tools for doing the customized hammered pendants and the wire names, and I can complete these pieces while you wait.  I really hope to see many of you out at Tempe Yarn and Fiber, the best yarn shop on the planet (at least on MY planet... no, wait.  Really.  The best yarn shop on the planet!)."

Ken Ledbetter's Drop Spindles with a Twist

Many of you are familar with Ken Ledbetter's great drop spindles, but this is something different from him.  He's just come out with a drop spindle that comes with interchangable shafts.  Why would you want differents shafts, you ask?  As you fill one of the drop spindle shafts with your spun fiber (yarn), you can quickly replace the full shaft with a fresh one and continue spinning.  Once they are all filled you can ply them together.

These are for the drop spindle lovers.

"It was a beautiful (by that I mean so cold I couldn’t feel my fingers, but the ocean looked nice and the rain held off) day."

We wish her and Chris the best.

Blackthorn Double Point Needles

Blackthorn double point needles are the only carbon fiber knitting needles in the world! They are not made of metal, wood, or plastic. What they are made of is a Carbon Fiber Composite - the same material used in the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Blackbird Stealth Jet as well as sporting goods that demand strength in a lightweight material.

These aren't inexpensive, but they are quality that will last.
