Cardigan Sweater Design 101—You Can Make It Fit with Angela

Begin the journey from swatch to design to finished sweater in 8 weeks under the guidance and instruction of Angela.  In this structured workshop, with her help you can design your own basic worsted weight cardigan with a set-in sleeve based on your personal measurements.

You will begin with your swatch.  Then she will help you take proper measurements.  There will be discussions on styles, shaping, and overall design.  (Do you need a bit of shaping, a more boxy sweater, v-neck, crew neck, longer sleeves, shorter sleeves, longer or shorter body, wider back, etc. to complement your figure?)  Next you will develop your personal pattern and a schematic to work from. 

As the knitting progresses you will learn special tips and techniques for that professional look.  Some of the more simple techniques you will learn will make your finishing task easier to accomplish.

In the end you will have a beautiful well-fitted sweater that you can be proud of, plus you will be able to take the skills you learned and use them to more easily adapt commercial pattern to your own unique shape and style preferences.

Class Length/Start Dates

This is a 17 hours class (one 3-hour session and seven 2-hour sessions).  The class will begin on Thursday, February 10, with the first class held from 5:30-8:30 and the additional classes will be from 6-8pm.

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (students should be comfortable with various increases/ decreases and familiar with reading their fabric).

Cost of Class will be $170.00 (materials not included).
