You've not had this much fun since you were a kid playing in the mud. DYE PLAY DAY let's you take wonderful undyed fibers or yarns and turn them into your own pallet of rainbow colors.

Food Dye Play Day - April 26

Have you ever wanted to dye your own yarn? Add that special color that only you will know when you see it. This is your change to explore dyeing.

The play day is scheduled from 1-3pm on April 26th. Call the shop to reserve a space.

Today was another TYF Food Dye Play Day!

First participants prepared the yarns, fibers, and "blanks" (skeins of yarn knitted into flat panels or yarn skeins):

Then they applied colored dyes in one-of-a-kind patterns:

Then, after being cooked to set the dye, the pieces went outside to dry:

Once they dried, the dyed blanks were unraveled and wound into balls, producing beautiful hand-painted yarns.
